Stephanie Bryan, Psychotherapist
After receiving my MSW (Masters Degree in Social Work) and working for a few years, I “retired” to motherhood. 15 years later, when I decided to return to work, it was important to me to update my clinical skills. I selected a two-year post-masters certificate program in Cognitive Behavior Therapy that I pursued at The Education Center of Sheppard Pratt in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, I attended many workshops on addictions, family therapy, sexuality, hypnosis, gestalt therapy, Reality Therapy, and various other topics.
In 1987, I moved to Colorado and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC III). I have worked in the following settings:
- A DUI program facilitating education and therapy groups and providing individual therapy.
- Psychiatric hospitals facilitating cognitive behavioral, addictions, codependency, experiential “ropes course”, and computerized learning groups; providing individual and family therapy, and case management.
- An elementary school where I worked as a family outreach coordinator, providing support to families so their kids could be successful in school.
- Private Practice, since 1988.
In my private practice, I work primarily with adults with depression, anxiety, and addictions. I am an inveterate learner, always seeking to improve my clinical skills. In addition to Cognitive Behavior Therapy, I have training in EMDR and Brainspotting. I also have a passion to help parents raise kids who can think, problem-solve and make healthy choices; so I provide parent coaching along with psychotherapy and psychotherapy along with parent coaching, as indicated.
